So Autumn is here. Taking an early morning walk, I was reminded of this stanza:.
Autumn is over the long leaves that love us,
And over the mice in the barley sheaves;
Yellow the wings of the rowan above us,
And yellow the wet-wild strawberry leaves.
This is the first stanza of Yeats’ ‘The Falling of the Leaves’, and an old favourite of mine.
