I’m currently researching a fascinating topic: Jesus as an introvert.
Of course, as Christians we know that, while on earth, Jesus exhibited character traits across the broad spectrum. As such, it would be an incomplete analysis to pigeonhole him as one thing or the other.
But that’s the beauty of it all. In the character of Jesus, we find different traits to which we all can relate, whoever we are, and whatever our background. For example, we can find both introversion and extroversion. We can also identify Jesus operating from both a rational and an emotional standpoint. Similarly, he also variously demonstrates feeling and sensate traits. In fact, for those of us familiar with Myers-Briggs typology, it would not be too far-fetched to say that Jesus could perhaps pass for all 16 MBTI personality types.
But here I’m interested only (for now at least) in the idea of Jesus and introversion. And so, in the coming days, I’ll be studying the New Testament to see how much of this theme comes through.
