Visited the Watch 2019 exhibition two months ago.
As usual, it took place at the stylish Okura Hotel, here in Amsterdam.
I finally managed to attend, after several years of trying. One year, I was late to sign up. By the time I’d got ready to do that, the registration deadline had passed. Another year (last year, actually), I was too jet lagged to go, having just got off a long flight – from a time zone eight hours away.
So this year, I was doubly determined to be there. And I was glad I made it. For one thing, I got to see a Lange 1 up close. Didn’t try it on though.
I did however try on a Panerai. To my great surprise, it looked amazing. I normally shy away from Panerai, due to the massive size. But this particular one caught the eye. On the picture above, it’s the one in the middle. It’s called the Panerai Luminor 42mm Due 3 days. Although it’s 42mm, it wears quite small, and looks good on my 6.3 inch wrist. Never would I have imagined that.
And so it’s now on my wish list. A truly beautiful timepiece.
